Loving Josie RDB!

Loving Josie, A Torey Hope Novel
by A.D. Ellis

This is a stand-alone novel and does not need to be read in order.

Josie Decker has spent her whole life as an unloved and unwanted bother. Like a wild horse captured and bridled, Josie’s spirit is broken. She devises a plan to start her life anew; silently biding her time, she waits for the perfect moment. When that moment arises, Josie takes the opportunity and runs freely into an uncertain future in Torey Hope.

Kyle Martin is a tattooed, pierced, bad boy with a heart of gold. Marching to the beat of his own drummer, Kyle meets his perfect match early on in life. Devastating circumstances beyond his control plunge Kyle into dark despair and suffocating blackness. In an effort to escape the blackness, Kyle accepts an offer from an old friend and moves to Torey Hope.

Josie and Kyle hit it off as close friends and kindred spirits right away. Both are harboring secrets and sadness, but the connection between them is bringing light back to their smiles, their hearts, their lives. Kyle and Josie cling to each other as they battle guilt and crushed spirits. Through it all, with a lot of help from an unexpected accomplice, Kyle and Josie come to view each other in a new light.

When the past catches up to them and causes their lives to come crashing down, will Kyle and Josie get the chance to see where their future is headed? Or will they be forced to admit they waited too long to embrace what was right in front of them the whole time?

A heart-wrenching and heart-warming love story of cherishing the past while embracing the future.

For ages 18+ due to adult language and situations.

Review by Jamie: This is my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. Sometimes all we need is a good old romantic, heart tugging read and I certainly got it with this one. Not the billionaire reads that have spiraled out of control lately. Don’t get me wrong, I love all my wealthy book boyfriends, but sometimes you just want a regular Joe to get the girl.

Josie Decker was never meant to be born yet she was, and because of that she would suffer. Josie’s high socialite parents were cold, unloving and could not be bothered to bear with the “problem known as Josie”. Josie was never shown love, kindness or affection in her young life but she never lost hope.

Unlike Josie, Kyle Martin had a loving family and was shown love and encouragement all his life, so when he found his true love he thought his life was complete. Tragedy struck in his life. Now Kyle has a shattered heart of gold . How he was living when he met Josie was overridden by pure guilt as each day he lived on. He was the judge and he was the jury, crucifying himself daily. My heart broke and a few tears were shed for Kyle.

Both Josie and Kyle are running from the demons that haunt them everyday when they individually move to Torey Hope. They come to know each other through friends and a beautiful friendship is built, realizing they have more in common than they thought.

The characters as it changed POVs (my favorite) were completely their own voice, the desolation, the happiness, the unhappiness, the despair, the growing, the anger, the determination, all unique to each their own characterizations.

Loving Josie is a beautiful, emotional and steamy read. Provoking feelings from circumstances that are dire, nasty and horrible and delivering hope, happiness and over comings in darkness too. This book is full of visual and emotional stimulation. A perfect emotional, romantic read that contains a healthy dose of drama too.

I am so glad to have had the pleasure of reading it. I received a copy of Loving Josie (thank you soooo much A.D.) in return for an honest review.
