Synopsis: Growing up on the outskirts of Las Vegas as the daughter of notorious strip club owner, Stephen Knox, and a mother who abandoned her at birth, life was less than kind to a young Antoinette.
After a failed teenage suicide attempt, Toni hit the road in search of a life free of undeserved cruelty and any resemblance to her past.
Years later, Toni is lost in a dead end marriage and makes a painful confession that sends her back to the one place she always wanted to escape. But can she really right the wrongs that haunt her? Toni soon finds that the only place where things stay the same is in your mind.
When her path crosses with David Stark, childhood playmate turned one night stand, she cannot deny the spike in temperature she feels every time he’s near or the scorching dreams that flood her at night.
Digging through the years of heartache, Toni soon finds herself torn between the man she is committed to and the one who has always held her heart. As each layer unfolds before her, she discovers the root cause of her pain. Always believing the source was external, nothing could prepare her for the truth.

Review by Jennifer: Toni’s life growing up wasn’t easy. She had a mother that didn’t want her and her father owned a strip club on the outskirts of Las Vegas. Everyone in school knew who her father was and she was bullied because of it. She had a best friend that meant the world do her though. David was always there to protect her. They were always together as children and as they got older Toni started to realize that she thought of him in more than a “friend” way, but in the end the person she was supposed to trust most broke her heart.
So she runs. She takes a full ride scholarship to a place in Indiana and leaves it all behind. She thought she could live a “normal” life, but she realizes that normal just isn’t cutting it. She has a husband that hasn’t touched her in years. And she’s so sexually frustrated!
She gets a call that her father is in the hospital and decides to go back to Las Vegas and to the hometown near it that she has avoided like the plague since she left. That’s when she realizes that she still has the hots for David, but shes married now. Even if she did want to do anything with David she would never break her vows to her husband. Even with David hanging around her more and flirting she knows she still needs to keep it cool. She still has a life in Indiana to go back to. She plans on making it work, no matter how much David tries to flirt with her.
Staying in that small hometown isn’t easy for her, but she makes it work. She fixes up her Dad’s house, helps straighten up his club, and then the shit hits the fan. I couldn’t put this book down! I absolutely loved the chemistry between David and Toni. Want to know how things end? Go grab a copy of her book! Definitely worth it!
