Review: Forever Black will touch a part of your soul and leave a mark. Ellery was doing alright until her boyfriend decided to leave her because he needed space. She takes it pretty hard and ends up locking herself in her apartment and throwing herself into her artwork and shutting the world out. Her friend stages an intervention though. They go out to a nice club to drink and dance. Ellery witnesses this stranger get slapped by a woman. She can’t help but stare because of the scene, but she the fact is he’s hot! Later on she goes out to get a breath of fresh air only to see that hot stranger is stumbling around and about to get a cab home. She can’t let him go home by himself in that state. He’ll never make it home. So her soft heart helps him into a cab , she gets his address from his license, and helps him get home. Once there she helps him get into his apartment and makes sure that he’s okay. The next morning she is making him coffee when he walks out. He assumes that he brought her home last night and slept with her. His number one rule is no sleepovers, but Ellery will have none of it and sets him straight on what happened. He sees how feisty she is, but also how caring she is. And from then on he get attached. He woos her and her walls start to crumble, but Ellery has a secret. One that she’s not willing to share with Connor. And because of this it just may split them up. This secret isn’t something to take lightly either.

I was an emotional wreck when Ellery’s secret came out and I had to see all of the pain and suffering she had to go through both in her past and future. I now see a different side to life and realize how precious it can be. I can tell you now, if you read this book it will change you. It is definitely worth your time. I give it five stars!
